Overview

What it is

Corns and callouses form where the foot is under repeated pressure. We remove them painlessly with a sterile scalpel and discuss what is causing them, footwear, biomechanics or skin type, so they are less likely to return.

  • A small, deep, cone-shaped area of hard skin (corn)
  • Broad areas of thick, yellow skin on weight-bearing areas (callous)
  • A burning or 'walking on a pebble' sensation
  • Pain that eases when you take your shoes off

Aftercare

Looking after your feet

Wear well-fitting shoes with a deep toe box, moisturise daily and use any padding or insoles we provide. Avoid medicated corn plasters, which can damage healthy skin.

FAQs

Common questions

Will they come back?
If the underlying pressure is not addressed they can return, we will help you identify and reduce the cause.
Is removal painful?
No, the hard skin has no nerve supply, so reduction is comfortable and often immediately relieving.
