Glass, not frame
A slider keeps its panels in the plane of the wall, so nothing intrudes into the room or the terrace. In aluminium the interlock between panes can be as slim as 35mm, which gives you a view broken by a single vertical line rather than a row of them.
Lift-and-slide gear takes the weight off the seals as you open, so a very large panel still moves with one hand and seals hard when closed.
