Handcrafted Evolution uPVC
Mechanically jointed corners instead of a welded seam - the closest uPVC gets to a joiner-made window.
What 'handcrafted' actually means here
Standard uPVC windows are welded at the corners and then the weld is cleaned off, leaving the faint witness line you can see on most modern frames. Evolution frames are cut, jointed and pinned like timber joinery, so the corner reads as a mitre and the woodgrain runs uninterrupted across it.
The result is a window that survives close inspection - which matters when the frame is at eye level beside a front door, or when a planning officer is standing two feet away from it.

Inside the frame
A cutaway through one of our window profiles, showing how the sealed unit, gaskets, multi-chamber frame and sill work together to keep heat in and weather out.

Sectional view, standard uPVC window and sill
- Multi-chamber profile
- Sealed air chambers through the frame and sash slow heat loss and stiffen the section, so wide openings stay true without reinforcement showing.
- Sealed glass unit
- Argon filled double glazing with a warm-edge spacer bar and a low-e coating on the inner pane, bedded on tape rather than wet silicone.
- Twin weather seals
- Two compression gaskets, one on the sash and one on the frame, give a double line of defence against wind-driven rain and draughts.
- Chambered sill and drainage
- The sill is chambered for rigidity and drains forward, so water leaves the frame rather than sitting in the rebate or tracking back to the brickwork.
