Proportion is the whole job
A sash window is judged on three measurements: the depth of the bottom rail, the position of the meeting rail, and the width of the glazing bars. Get those wrong and the window is instantly modern, regardless of how good the hardware is.
We measure the originals, or the neighbours' originals where the originals are long gone, and specify to match. Run-through horns, deep rails and slim bars are all available - they are not upgrades we hide behind a menu.

Sash work in the Old Town
★★★★★
“They matched the glazing bars on the two houses either side of us, which nobody else quoting even mentioned. From the street you cannot tell they are new.”
★★★★★
“Six sashes, two days, and they took the rubbish away. The tilt mechanism means I can finally clean the first floor from inside.”
★★★★★
“Straight answer on what the conservation officer would accept, before we spent anything. That alone was worth the visit.”
