Expert casement installation across Buckinghamshire

Casement windows suit virtually every Aylesbury property style, pairing traditional side and top opening with modern thermal performance and security. They give you fine control over ventilation, easy cleaning access from inside, and proportions that look right on a period cottage and a new-build alike.

With over 25 years fitting windows in Aylesbury, we know how casements sit against the local building stock, from Chilterns flint and brick to interwar semis and the villages north of the town. Every job is surveyed by our own experienced measurer, so the fit and the opening arrangement are worked out on your wall rather than guessed from a price list.

Why it still dominates

A casement opens on a side or top hinge and seals against a compression gasket, which makes it the most weathertight configuration in common use and the easiest to make airtight over a long life. It also takes the widest range of hardware, so egress hinges, restrictors and child-safe locks can all be specified without leaving the range.

On Bedgrove, Southcourt, Quarrendon and most of the villages north of the town, the original windows were proud casements. Replacing like for like keeps the shadow line the elevation was designed around.

Why choose casement windows for your Aylesbury property

Classic looks, modern engineering. The benefits customers tell us matter most:

  • Traditional side-hung and top-hung opening functionality
  • Excellent ventilation control and air circulation in every room
  • Easy cleaning access from inside the property
  • Authentic aesthetics that suit period and contemporary homes
  • Superior security from modern multi-point locking systems
  • Strong thermal efficiency, reducing heat loss and draughts
  • Maintenance-free construction that lasts decades
  • Extensive design options to complement any property style
  • Enhanced kerb appeal and added value to the house

Configuration options

  • Side-hung, top-hung and fixed lights in any combination
  • Fire-egress hinges on first-floor bedrooms as standard where required
  • Astragal or Georgian bars, internal or bonded
  • Obscure glazing for bathrooms in six patterns
  • Trickle vents fitted discreetly into the head, not the sash face
  • Bay, bow and corner posts with structural reinforcement

Advanced casement window technology

Two things separate a good casement from an average one: how it opens and how it locks.

Versatile opening options

Side-hung for maximum access, top-hung for secure ventilation above sinks and radiators, and any mix of the two across a single frame. Child-safety restrictors, egress hinges and easy-action mechanisms are all specified at survey rather than added later.

Security excellence

Multi-point locking as standard, shootbolt mechanisms into steel keeps, anti-snap cylinder technology where a keyed handle is used, reinforced frame construction and laminated or toughened security glazing on vulnerable elevations.

Sectional view, standard 70mm casement

Multi-chamber profile
Six sealed air chambers in the frame and sash slow heat loss and stiffen the section, so wide openings stay true without extra reinforcement showing.
Sealed glass unit
4-20-4 argon filled double glazing with a warm-edge spacer bar and a low-e coating on the inner pane, bedded on tape rather than wet silicone.
Twin weather seals
Two compression gaskets, one on the sash and one on the frame, give a double line of defence against wind-driven rain and draughts.
Drainage and glazing beads
Internal beading holds the glass from the inside for security, and angled drainage routes any water in the rebate back out through the sill.
Hardware and hinges
Yale multi-point shootbolt locking into steel keeps, on stainless friction hinges with the handle sized to suit the opening.
Sill and sub-frame
A chambered sill throws water clear of the wall below and packs out the opening so the frame sits square in the reveal.

Casement benefits for Aylesbury properties

Ventilation excellence

Casements give better control of airflow than any other common window type, with opening configurations that maximise circulation and natural cooling in summer.

Maintenance accessibility

Side and top opening gives easy access for cleaning from inside, which makes casements practical at first floor and above as well as at ground level.

Authentic property integration

Traditional proportions and operation preserve the character of the elevation, so the house still reads as itself after the windows are replaced.
