Windows and doors in Thame
Windows, doors and garden rooms in Thame - a large conservation area, listed frontages and the newer estates off Oxford Road.
Fitting in Thame
Thame is twenty minutes west of the showroom and one of the best-preserved market towns in the region. Its conservation area is unusually large, which shapes almost every job we do there.
We have fitted across the town for years, from Cornmarket frontages to the modern housing on the Oxford Road side.
Market town stock
The broad High Street, Cornmarket and Buttermarket are lined with listed and near-listed frontages - timber-framed, Georgian brick and Victorian shopfronts. Window work here is heritage work: original opening sizes, correct proportions, and materials that satisfy South Oxfordshire District Council.
Behind that core, Victorian terraces and interwar semis run out along Park Street and Chinnor Road. Newer estates toward Oxford Road and Thame Park Road were built with builder-standard glazing that is often the first upgrade an owner makes, usually to aluminium sliders or bi-folds and a composite front door.

One of the largest conservation areas we work in
Thame's conservation area takes in most of the historic town, and a significant number of buildings are listed. On a listed building, replacing windows needs listed building consent regardless of material, and uPVC is rarely accepted on a principal elevation.
We will say plainly, at survey, whether a job needs consent and what is realistically likely to be approved - before you have paid for anything.
