Windows and doors in Tring
Windows and doors fitted across Tring - period High Street terraces, conservation-area work and the new estates off Icknield Way.
Fitting in Tring
Tring is a fifteen-minute run from Rabans Lane along the A41, and we have worked there for years - often on the recommendation of a neighbour two doors down.
It is a town of two halves for glazing: a tight period core with real constraints, and a modern edge where the priority is thermal performance and garden access.
What we fit in Tring
The High Street, Akeman Street and Frogmore Street hold Victorian and Georgian terraces with narrow original openings. Sash windows and flush casements are what belong there; a standard proud casement changes the face of the building and is usually refused in the conservation area.
Around Miswell Lane, Grove Road and Bulbourne the stock turns to interwar and post-war housing, where casement replacement and a composite front door make the biggest difference to warmth and security. On the newer developments off Icknield Way we are mostly fitting aluminium - sliders, bi-folds and slim contemporary windows.

The Tring conservation area
Tring's conservation area covers most of the historic centre, and Dacorum Borough Council take the window detail seriously - sightline, glazing bar profile and whether the sash sits flush all get looked at. We survey these jobs against the original opening and will tell you honestly if what you want is unlikely to be accepted.
Outside the conservation area, replacements are a building regulations matter and we certify them through FENSA.
